A stunning, tranquil position offers up a soulful, historic house with chapel, recently reborn after a sensitive restoration.
Situated on a quiet country 'white' road, overlooking the town of Apiro to the north and the picturesque mountain village of Poggio San Vicino to the south, in
the foothills of Monte San Vicino, Monastero di Favari is a beautiful 17th century former monastery-turned gentleman's villa. Discovered 6 years ago as a sleeping
romantic ruin, it has been recently renovated to a high standard whilst keeping its character and soul strongly intact. The charming small town of Apiro is only 5
minutes drive away, lovely Cupramontana, the capital of the Verdicchio wine region, lies 10 minutes away and the town of Cingoli 20 minutes drive away past the
pretty man made Cingoli lake. The historic cities of Jesi and Fabriano, two important centres, lie within a 25 minutes drive. The house offers the perfect
combination for a family holiday: a beautiful rural setting not far from the life of lovely Marchigani towns.
Local attractions include the world-renowned Frasassi Caves only 20 minutes drive away, the beautiful rocky beaches of the Conero Peninsula and the sandy
beaches of Senigallia and San Benedetto del Tronto within 50 minutes. The historic picturesque towns of Cingoli ('The Balcony of the Marches'), Treja, Fabriano,
San Severino Marche are all within easy reach, and a 2 hour drive will take you to the famous cities of Urbino, Ascoli Piceno, Todi, Assisi and Perugia in Umbria.
For children, there is horse riding nearby in Apiro, the famous El Dorado water park and Cingoli lake with its mini beach and pedalos. For wine lovers, the house
is on the Vie dell Verdicchio, the route of the region's celebrated white grape and offers cellar door tastings all within 30 minutes drive and closer. For hikers and
nature lovers the Monte San Vicino park is on your doorstep (with the less peaceful option of quad biking!) and for winter skiers the Sibillini Mountains lie
within a 90 minute drive. For those of a cultural mind, in July Macerata (40 minutes) stages the world famous Opera festival in its historic arena, the Sferisterio
and is host to the world's best opera singers and performers. Concerts run year round. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy seasonal cinghale (wild boar) hunting and
fishing, golf at the renowned Monte Conero Golf Club on the coast in Sirolo, yachting and water sports at Ancona and the beaches of the Conero Peninsula.
